Exactly one week after arriving in LA, I started working on my first stylist assistant job. I was hired to assist stylist Jordan Stolch with preparing for the E! Countdown to the Emmys Trend Report that aired on Sunday, September 17th at 1:30 pm PST/4:30 pm EST.
On my first day of assisting, I was tasked with helping with showroom pulls and pick ups throughout LA. I had a list of five showrooms to visit; either to help Jordan pull or pick up dresses and shoes that were already on hold for her. My first day was a great experience because it introduced me to LA showrooms and where many of them are located.
The days that followed included a fitting with the models at the E! office to determine which trend each model would wear along with my first round of returns for the items that did not work for the segment.
On the day of the segment, we arrive at the hotel near the Microsoft Theater (that's the location of the Emmys) and set up our room with merchandised shoes and jewelry. I prepped the dresses by steaming them; making sure they were camera ready.
After hair and makeup was completed, Jordan and I dressed each model and they were on their way! The glam/style team stayed behind and were able to watch the entire trend segment live on E! in our hotel room. The models looked gorgeous. Everyone involved did a great job getting the models prepared for their live show.
I've watched E! for years for red carpet coverage, so it was surreal to see a fashion show I was apart of on the network. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to work on this project and am hopefully I will have many more opportunities in the near future!
