Life of An Assistant: Under Armour "UA Pursuit" Campaign Featuring Will Barton

So I had a full circle moment in May.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love sports. In college, I asked the Media Relations department if I could work basketball games. My job was to provide the media in attendance with stat reports during each media time out. By senior year, I had secured a marketing internship with the Athletic Department. Along with working basketball and football games, I was the Marketing Manager for the Swimming and Diving team. The stars were aligned; I was going to work in sports post college!

Well then I went to graduate school, worked part-time in retail and decided that maybe fashion marketing was the field I wanted to pursue instead.  To stay connected to the sports world, I applied for jobs at athletic brands like Under Armour (UA). I am a fan of the apparel (layering with Under Armour Cold Gear is a must in below 30 degree temperatures), love the branding and was interested in the story of how UA started. They had really great commercials too!

So imagine my excitement when I had the opportunity to assist a stylist on an Under Armour photo shoot featuring Denver Nuggets player Will Barton. My mentor (hey Apuje!) referred for the job. This was a one day location photo shoot that took us all over Baltimore; Barton's home town. We shot four different looks for the UA Pursuit Collection. Some of the looks from the shoot are featured below.

The fall '16 UA PURSUIT men's apparel and footwear line celebrates the journey of the aspirational and recognizes their ambition to reach new levels.  New items from the collection will be released throughout the year.

Location shoots can be long days, but being able to travel around different parts of a city keeps things exciting. Special thanks to stylist Priscilla for the opportunity to assist.

Print adverting for major campaigns in an area of styling I will work in a lot more often in the future. #ClaimingIt
