Styled by Keri: 49th Annual NAACP Image Awards

I moved to LA in September 2017. I would have never imaged that four months later I have the opportunity to style a client during awards season. Someone pinch me because it feels like I am dreaming!

Thanks to my mentor, I had the opportunity to work with the creators, husband and wife duo Tommy and Codie Oliver, of the Black Love documentary for a photo shoot last month. That photo shoot led to me working with Codie, for the 49th Annual NAACP Image Awards.

I had the chance to style Codie for both the Non-Televised Awards Dinner on Sunday, January 14th and the NAACP Image Awards that was televised on Monday, January 15th.

Since the categories Black Love was nominated for, Outstanding Documentary and Oustanding Directing In A Television Movie or Special, were announced at the dinner on Sunday, we wanted to make sure she had a red carpet moment! Codie wore a MNM Couture gown and Schutz heels. She looked great and felt amazing. And THE stylist extraordinaire June Ambrose noticed; June shouted out her look on the red carpet. I couldn't believe it!!

For the second day of the awards weekend, Codie wanted to wear a dress that was comfortable and easy breezy, so we opted for a Fe Noel Trench Dress paired with Charles by Charles David Rebecca sandal

As a fan of the Black Love documentary, it was an honor to help create these fashionable moments for Codie.  I am inspired by this couple and their commitment to inspire, encourage and help our community navigate relationships. I can't wait for Season 2!
